HIGH school standouts coming from the different schools in the city, including those out of school youths are encouraged to join the 2014 Coca-Cola PBA Young Stars Basketball Try-outs-Baguio Leg to be held at the University of Baguio Cardinals gym April 8.
Supervised by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), the event opens free registration for all interested teams from the city to try-out in groundwork for the Regional Tournament slated April 20-May 7.
"The registration for the try-out is totally free, this is to encourage all interested teams or individual players from our city to enlist themselves especially since hindi lang naman school-based ang competition," SBP North Central Luzon Head Danny Soria said.
Soria added even junior teams coming from the community or barangays can openly participate.
"Any team can participate just make sure na they qualify sa requirements set in our tournament mechanics," Soria quipped.
Soria added on-site registration for the try-outs will be open until the April 8 at the UB gym.
Teams must consist of 12 players with three members each born in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 only.
The winner in the Baguio leg qualifiers will then advance to the North Luzon Leg and compete with other regional champions from Pangasinan and Pampanga.
The regional champion will go to the National Finals against the titlists Southern Luzon, Mindanao and Metro Manila before advancing to the National Finals slated May 18-25.
Southern Luzon will be comprised of Laguna, Cavite and Batangas, while the Mindanao side consists of Davao, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga.
