CLOSE to 200 junior cagers from the Baguio City gets a taste of the country’s top basketball clinic starting April 21-26 at the Saint Louis University Laboratory High School.

Children ages 12 years old and under start their journey of becoming the next basketball star in the Milo Basketball Efficiency & Scientific Training Center that teaches the fundamentals of the sport and remains to be the benchmark of basketball training in the country.

Local sports coordinator for Milo Best Center Russel Go said the basketball clinic aims to train young sport enthusiasts in an effective scientific technique.

"In Milo Best Center kasi we formulate a proven scientific way of teaching children afar from the simple knowledge of dribbling, shooting and others," Go said.

Go added the ladderized program of Milo is set for the young learners that will truly give basic standards for the children learning to play basketball.

"Training with Milo truly enhances the skills of the learner more differently than the usual way of learning basketball," said Go.

"More than that we follow our clinic with a competition as a means of evaluating the level learned by our trained children," Go added.

The week-long summer clinic will be conducted by national coaches from the Milo Best Center, founded by Nick Jorge.

According to Go, registrations for the first batch were already closed since last month.

"We were surprised that slots were already closed as early as March that is why we will extend and conduct a second batch clinic scheduled on June 1-7 possibly in Easter College," Go quipped.

Milo Best Center offers three levels of training namely basics in dribbling (level 1), defense (level 2), shooting or offense (level 3).

Best Center already runs on its 36th year with 30 years of experience of teaching basketball in Baguio City.

Go added a tournament for the participants of the summer clinic will follow this coming August.
