FRESH from his US stint, Kapangan bodybuilder Ceasar Lukines is knocking on the doors of good Samaritans for another international campaign in November.
Lukines, who recently bagged the 1st runner-up honors in the 2014 Mr. California State National Physique Committee Qualifiers, is seeking assistance anew for another event in the US in his bid of winning an internationally known professional bodybuilder contest.
"It is easy to think of entering the competition since I was able to qualify for a higher ladder of competition, however goals maybe harder to achieve with the lack of financial resources," Lukines said.
With the current victory, Lukines will advance to the upcoming International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness PRO competition to be held on Miami, Florida.
The 35-year-old weightlifter said he is lucky enough since the top two contenders of the competition are the only ones to qualify for the IFBB PRO.
He said the preparations for the international contest takes months and requires a sufficient amount of financial back-up as it is needed to come up with his best form.
“Mahirap ang preparation, but most of all magastos din at the same time. I cannot easily provide all of my expenses so I guess finding kind hearted sponsors might really help,” said Lukines who took up bodybuilding 2000.
Lukines said vitamins and diet will play major role for his international campaign but the cost is just to high to shoulder.
“The least budget for a month with the complete diet, vitamins, and exercise program amounts to more than P40,000 and that is quite heavy for me to carry alone,” Lukines quipped.
Although he recently won in a competition held in American soil, Lukines said he did not receive any cash prizes.
“Unlike here in the Philippines walang cash prize doon, winners of the competition rarely look for incentives since ang talagang pasok ng income will generally follow kapag may mga kukuha sayo as endorsers for promotions,” said Lukines.
“Only few carry the Philippine flag in those kinds of international contests, I hope that with my efforts I can call out much needed support,” Lukines added.
The 14 year veteran is among bodybuilders from Kapangan to bring home international titles in the sport like Jerome Kayamso, Mike Tiwtiw, and Jerome Layugan.
The recent international victory will be among the great achievements of Lukines, including his titles as Mr. Baguio (2003), Mr. Benguet (2003), and Mr. Panagbenga (2004).
For inquiries on how to contribute assistance and support Lukines may be reached through the number (0929)291-6884 or people may look for him at the Benguet Fitness Center located in the 4th floor Maharlika Livelihood Center.
