GERMANY'S fourth title run in the FIFA World Cup was a testament to the team’s hardwork all throughout the month long tournament, according to a revered football coach in the Summer Capital.

After 32 days of fierce competition, Germany fought tooth and nail scoring in the extra 113th minute with Mario Goetze controlling the ball with his chest and then volleyed it into the Argentine goal to end Argentina’s dream of winning their third World Cup title.

“Germany was consistent since the start of the tournament. Everybody played a huge part in the team and they had a better line–up than Argentina making them a hard match –up in the finals,” said BCNHS and Cordillera-Goshenland FC head coach Aries Bocalan.

After failing to score in the 90 minute regulation, Argentina and Germany played with tired legs into the extra time. Germany brought brawn, its intricate passing and movement and tireless determination to attack and attack again. Argentina responded with bruising defense and craftiness and could have won had its players not wasted chances.

“After the 7-1 win against Brazil in the semis, Germany was already confident that it will win the World Cup. Malaking bagay kasi yun dahil nasa kanila yung momentum tsaka sinabi na rin siguro sa sarili nila na mananalo sila,” added Bocalan.

Bocalan added Germany’s stacked line up as compared to Argentina’s go-to Messi tactic played a huge difference in their match – up.

“Argentina really struggled during the finals. Hey relied too much on Messi at kung titignan mo yung game, halos makikita mo na exhausted na talaga si Messi,” said Bocalan. “Unlike sa Germany, everybody was rooting for Miroslav Klose to score but Goetze who was a substitute toward the end of regulation time did it for Germany”.

It is Germany's first World Cup title as a unified nation, having won as West Germany in 1954, 1974 and 1990. The Germans faced Argentina in both the 1986 and 1990 finals.
