SBP defending champion Berkeley School will have its hands full when it defends the crown against University of the Cordilleras - Elementary School, SLU - Laboratory Elementary School, University of Baguio, Our Lady of Mt. Berkeley edged power house International School for Better Beginnings (ISBB) Lucena to bring home the championship trophy via a 59-52 victory during last year's Luzon finals in Pampanga.

Berkeley also won the Baguio championship in 2012.

In the Passerelle division, Group A will be bannered by UB Science High School, SLU Laboratory High School team B, UC High School, Mt. Carmel Montessori, Baguio Patriotic High School and Baguio City National High School.

Group B meanwhile will be bannered by tow time defending champion Saint Louis College - La Union, UB Prep. High School, SLU-LHS Team A, Ednas School and Berkeley.

The tournament features unique rules wherein a team must field a new set of five players for each for the first three periods. The coach may then play any combination he wishes for the final canto, thus guaranteeing each player a minimum of 10 minutes of court time.

SBP is for players aged nine to 11 while Passerelle is for 12 to 14 year olds and was conceived in order to act as a bridge between the SBP and the Juniors Division for players 18 and under.

It is also a perfect opportunity for MILO BEST Center students to apply what they have learned during the summer sports clinic founded by Coach Nic Jorge.
Since 1985, the SBP and Passerelle tournaments have produced players who have taken their game to the next level like two-time PBA MVP James Yap, national players Larry Fonacier, JV Casio and MILO ambassador Chris Tiu.
