PRESSURE might be the last word Geje Eustaquio wants to hear or feel as he gears up for the biggest fight of his young mixed martial arts career.

Eustaquio of the famed Team Lakay will test his skills against Brazillian fighter Adriano Moraes on September 12 for the inaugural world flyweight championship of One Fighting Championship set at the Koh Pich Theatre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

“Pressure is part of the preparation but I’m focused on improving my game,” said Eustaquio who will be the second Team Lakay fighter who will fight for a title in Asia’s largest mma organization after Honorio Banario who won the featherweight belt way back in 2012.

The 25 – year old wushu-sanshou specialist earned a shot at the title after scoring a unanimous decision win over Japanese Kentaro Watanabe while Moraes submitted Kozuke Suzuki via an arm triangle choke.

The One FC event will be the first in Cambodia after having held successful events in Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan and the promotion’s homebase in Singapore.

Although Eustaquio is considered an underdog going into the fight, the BS Education graduate said their training camp right now is focused on building power and strength so we could counter Moraes ground game.

“As much as possible we don’t want Moraes to control the game, I won’t gamble when it comes to a ground game but I would be more comfortable if we engage in a striking battle,” added Eustaquio.

Eustaquio started his career in 2011 debuting in the Universal Reality Combat Championship Baguio: Invasion winning against Rex Wa-o and has racked up five wins and two losses since.

One FC: Rise of Kingdom will also feature highly ranked lightweights Caros Fodor and Vuyisile Colossa set to clash once again in a rematch, while top rated Singaporean star Radeem Rahman will take on Taiwanese mixed martial arts pioneer Sung Ming Yen and fellow Singaporean Amir Khan will face Malaysia’s Jian Kai Chee.

Cambodian-Australian Suasday Chau has also been added to the card, and will clash with Arnaud Lepont in his One FC debut.

“One FC: Rise of the Kingdom is set to be the biggest sporting event to ever take place in ‘The Kingdom’! Fans in Cambodia and viewers watching all over the world can expect a night of adrenaline-pumping mixed martial arts action that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire night! This is a night that you will not want to miss,” One FC CEO Victor Cui stated.
