Goshen tops Panagbenga football tournament

CORDILLERA Goshenland Football Club (CGFC) bound Palarong Pambansa took home two crowns during the weekend top rule the recently concluded nine-a-side Panagbenga Football Cup 2017.

Kenneth Sibaen dished out an MVP like performance to lead CGFC in besting Arrellano University’s Empera Boyz to win the championship in the men’s open during the weekend at the Baguio Athletic Bowl.

Visiting team Futbol Iloko FC and North Western University meanwhile salvaged second and third runner-up respectively in the event made part of the annual flower festival backed by the City of Baguio.

Individual awardees in the men’s open side include Francis Valenor of Futbol Iloko FC (best goalkeeper), Miller Akiapat (best defender), Reberto Corsame (best midfielder) with Wilfredo Bautista winning the most valuable player plum while Sibaen was named the best striker.

Following its reign in the open’s division, CGFC also lorded 17 under category besting Benguet State University(BSU) team A, which settled for first runner – up while BSu team B and Baguio City National High School (BCNHS) salvaged third runner–up.

Sibaen was named MVP in the division with Dominador Padcayan as best goalkeeper while best striker went to Wilfredo Bautista with best defender Junuel Fianza and best midfielder Jay Ar Jorolan.

In the ladies side, BCNHS edged BSU FC with CGFC Palaro settling for second runner –up as Bluelions FC went home with a third runner-up finish.

The best goalkeeper award went to Rowan Bungay while best defender is Janina Arellano, best midfielder Jaja Obidos and MVP Aveya Buenaventura.

Inspired by their male counterparts, the CGFC came out on top of the 17 under category defeating BSU FC who earlier trounced City High FC that secure third place while Pinsao FC settled for fourth place.

Jan Aveya Buenaventura went home with the MVP plum with Yohan Buenaventura as best goalkeeper, while best striker is Kara Alinsug, best defender went to Kayla Balacwid and best midfielder went to Kayla Dalisay.

BSU FC team A meanwhile topped the 15 Under contest as BCNHS fell to first runner up while Lubas FC settled for 2nd runner up as Quezon Hill FC salvaged 3rd runner up.

Junuel Fianza took home the MVP in the division with Mark Bei as best goalkeeper, Gabe Fianza as best striker, best defender was Jesan Dumagus as Aron Tenollar was named best midfielder.

BCNHS team A came out on top in the 13 Under division edging BCNHS team B with 2nd runner up Quezon ES and 3rd runner up Balili.

Ivan Silia was named MVP with JM Palitogen as best striker while best midfielder was Juie Peralta and best defender to Edrian Balila as Harold Rillera took home the best goalkeeper award.

Quezon team A took home the 11 Under crown with Doña Aurora Elementary School settling for second place as Crystal Cave came in third while John Hay FC went home with a decent fourth place finish.

Winie Estores lead all the individual awardees after taking home the MVP honors together with Faustine Kirvy Tabelin (best midfielder), Juri Lozano (best defender), Dhuff Shelldon Lawagan (best striker), and KA Quitaleg (best goalkeeper).

CGFC’s 9 under team alos topd their respective division edging Quezon FC as Central FC and Crystal Cave FC was third and fourth respectively.

Zurich Dalang was named the MVP while best goalkeeper award went to Gandrei Pacdayan as Neo Dacanay took the best striker award with Jayden Vergara and Lance Tangalin winning the best defender and midfielder award respectively. (Roderick Osis)
