Lomyog leads cast of winners in 3rd Bishop run

ASIDE from topping the foot race, participants in the 3rd Bishop’s Run recently held at the Burnham Lake Drive were also given a chance to help in preserving the cleanliness as well as the safety of Baguio residents and visitors who frequent Baguio’s premier park.

Jay Lomyog trailblazed the 21-kilometer (21K) run with a time of one hour and 43 seconds while Lisa Maranan had a time of one hour, 21 minutes and 11 seconds to win the distaff in the foot race which allowed runners to traverse a stretch of historic Camp John Hay.

Combative sports keep hope of Cordillera alive in Palaro

COMBATIVE sports continued their spirited rally as Cordillera kept its hope alive of a better finish in this year’s staging of the Palarong Pambansa being held here in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

From a measly 12 gold medal haul in last year’s Palaro held in Lingayen, the region has actually surpassed the count by one and is expected to have more as taekwondo and arnis competition has come to a close where the region has been excelling.

DUMAGUETE CITY -- Arnis practically saved the day for the Cordillera Administrative Region to barge into the medal tally in the ongoing 2013 Palarong Pambansa at the Holy Cross High School here.

Inspired by the golden performance of Elemer Manlapas in the anyo individual single weapon in the elementary boys category, the Cordillera added two more silver and two bronze medals for the region after two days of disappointment.

Cordi bets eye better finish in 2013 Palaro

CORDILLERA region formally gears up and try to better their 11th place finish last year in the upcoming Palarong Pambansa to be held in Negros Oriental from April 21 to 27.

One hundred eighty-three elementary and 211 high school student athletes from the six provinces and Baguio City will comprise bulk of the region’s delegation which starts to ship out to Dumaguete today, Wednesday, until the weekend.
