NEW look Terte Heunique survived a fourth quarter shootout edging Curamed 1, 73-70, to earn its first win in bracket C of the ongoing 21st Friendship Cup basketball invitational tournament.
The event was held at the Easter College gym Monday evening.
From what turned out to be a blow out ball game became a heart stopping action after Curamed 1 offense finally came through in the final minute of the fourth quarter, which almost secured for the pharmacy a come from behind win.

Terte opened the ball game with a 15-2 blast in the first quarter with 5:29 remaining taking control of the lead at the end of the period with a 22-15 advantage then hanged on to the lead until the end of the third period for a 53-46 count.
Curamed made its move at the start of the fourth quarter to narrow down the former Red Nose Cockers lead by three, 53-50 with 8 minutes left in the ball game.
Terte still had its offensive flow going into the last four-minute frame of the ball game until Curamed came closer with a one-point deficit for a 63-64 count before the latter surged ahead in the score board for the first time in the ball game, 63-64 with 3:37 left in the clock.
Former Curamed stalwart Raymund Apari, now donning a Terte jersey scored clutch treys to put Curamed at bay as it regained the lead via a 66-64 count with 3:16 remaining.
Terte then added another two-point lead courtesy of Ramil Estera's two in the paint for a 68-64 count with 3:01 left in the ball game.
Curamed then scored a triple courtesy of Bernard Buligon to once again narrow down Terte's deficit by one 68 -67 with 1:50 left.
Apari coolly sank another triple to give Terte a four-point advantage, 71-67, with 31 ticks remaining.
Sherwin Chui then fired a trey to once again knock on Terte's lead with 14 seconds left in the ball game for a 71-70 count.
In the ensuing play, Apari took hold of the ball with less than five seconds left before he was fouled sending the former Curamed guard to the free throw lane.
He then calmly sank both free throws for a 73-70 count with three more seconds left in the ball game but Curamed was unable to take a clear shot from mid court.
The health providers suffered their first setback in the tournament.
Apari led Terte with his game high 23 points including six triples. He drew support from Estera and Jimwell Generoza who added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Curamed 1 who missed its main man in Jericho Junio was led by Buligon's 15 points while Fox Rivera added 11.
In other games, Barangay Pinget nipped SLU Boys High Nuventa'y Quatro, 87-73, for its first win in bracket G, while Samahang 84 downed Balisong Mover in bracket H, 93-81.A
