LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Department of Tourism Regional Director Purification Molintas will be gracing the second Anitap Festival in Kapangan town on Thursday.

A full-packed “Summer ed Kapangan,” closed its doors to registrants last week as it reached its target of 50 participants to the annual camping trek with night fishing.

Tour itineraries include: a visit to the Burcio’s Anthurium Farm, a visit of town’s one-town-one-product Municipal Livelihood Center, Bermuda grass of Taba-ao Elementary School and gold panning. A grand street parade will ensue inviting all to present native dances and costume for a display of culture.

Molintas said local festivals revive the economy of an area and make them competitive. “That is why we support all the festivals in the Cordilleras.”

Last year the Anitap Festival held the “Du vat ni Peshit” ritual signaling the start of a grand cañao in the highland town. (MEC)
