THREE students from the University of the Cordilleras (UC) and University of Baguio (UB) recently placed in the top 10 of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) board exams.
The examination was conducted by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) whose results were announced only a day after the examinations.
Mark Alyson Ngina of UC ranked seventh with a rating of 91.86 percent while Chester Pacio of also of UC ranked ninth with a rating of 91.57 percent.
UB's Randy Ventanilla ranked eighth with a 91.71 rating. Ventanilla was recently named one of the finalists in the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines-Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) search.
Out of 256 examinees in Baguio City, 90 or 35.16 percent successfully passed the test. Nationwide, 1,886 out of 4,772 examinees or 39.52 percent passed the examination.
Oath taking ceremonies of the successful examinees will be on Friday, July 2 at 1 p.m. at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center at Roxas Boulevard in Pasay City.
Initial PRC registration will start Tuesday as successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.
Requirements for the initial registration are: Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; 2010 Community Tax Certificate (Cedula); Photocopy of NSO Birth Certificate; Two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag); One piece 1"x1" picture (colored with white background and complete name tag); a Short Brown Envelope and a metered documentary stamp for the Oath form
Initial registration fee is at P600 and an annual registration fee of P450 for 2010-2013 should be submitted by the successful board passers.
The members of the Board of Accountancy who drafted the exam are Eugene Mateo, chairman; Ma. Elenita Cabrera, vice chairman; Luis Cañete, Rufo Mendoza and Jose Tayag Jr., members.
The Professional Identification Card (PIC) and Certificate of Registration will be issued by PRC Central Office three to four months after registration.
