VEHICLE owners with the centennial commemorative plate in Baguio City have to replace it with the standard one, a transportation department official said.
Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) regional director Federico Mandapat Jr. said the centennial commemorative plate of Baguio has already expired and residents should not use them anymore.

“The centennial commemorative plate only has one year validity,” Mandapat explained. The validity has expired as of June 2009 but it was only extended up to December 31, he said.
Mandapat said DOTC personnel are now apprehending any vehicle, which are still using the centennial plates and those that have superimposed plate numbers.
“All are apprehended if the commemorative plate is superimposed on the plate number,” Mandapat said.
He added that DOTC had talks with Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. and centennial commission’s Mike Pearson regarding the plates. (Visha Calventas)
