Patricio Ananayo, chief of the Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Division of the Department of Agriculture, said products which are not bought in one center will be collected and sold to the village bagsakan in other areas.
“Whatever excess a community has in its bagsakan center will be collected and sold in other areas,” he said.
This, he said, would maximize the marketing and provision of food to communities in the Cordillera.
The region has 36 village bagsakan centers, which was set up as the region is one of the priority areas of government’s poverty alleviation and hunger mitigation program.
The village bagsakan centers are set up in areas where these services are needed the most. These are set up in the villages to facilitate the delivery of food items to households. (JC)
