WETWORKS staved off every rally and eventually drowned MGD–Brookside, 84–78, to stay unbeaten in bracket A of the Panagbenga Cup Basketball Invitational tournament at the Coyeesan Gym Tuesday evening.
Bart Parrocha scored 14 and Erwin Calixterio had 11 points to lead Wetworks to its fourth straight victory and catapulted the team to the top of the standings with a clean 4–0 win, loss record.

Coming off from their three point victory against Texas Instruments the last time out, Wetworks opened the game with a 16–10 advantage before the closing the opening quarter 19–22.
Rudolf Eilenger, fresh from his 31 point production in their win against Tea House, towed MGD Brookside in the second quarter to tie the ball game at 24 all with 8:28 remaining in the second period.
But Wetworks took another 8–0 blast after the deadlock and surged ahead in the ball game for a 32–24 count with 6:33 left in the first half.
From then on Wetworks continued its dominance in the ballgame despite being outerbounded.
MGD’s woes in the ball game, meanwhile, continued with their shooting from the outside gone to sour. Eilenger, who hit seven triples the last time out only had three in the ball game missing nine treys but still finished with his game high 29 points.
Wetworks still enjoyed a 66–57 lead at the end of the third quarter although MGD tried to stay close in the ball game staring at a seven point deficit, 68-61, with 8:58 left in the final canto but proved to be the latter’s last ditch effort in salvaging a win.
Parrocha and Calixterio drew support from Dong Baladjay and Gerry Rigos who added 10 points each.
Jonathan Collado on the other hand had 20 points for MGD Brookside which slid to third with a 2-2 win loss record while Mike Buangan and Obet Giron chipped in 13 and 10 points, respectively.
