Arroyo elated by modest economic growth in 2005

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo expressed pleasure Monday over the 5.1 percent and 5.7 percent growth in the gross domestic product (GDP) and gross national product (GNP), respectively, in 2005.
Arroyo, in her speech at the 15th anniversary of the Philippine National Police (PNP), said the growth rate is “one of the highest in a long time.”
