Arroyo hopes for Catholic Church’s greater support

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said Monday night that she was expecting that the Catholic Church will further back her policies following the wishes of Pope Benedict XVI.
Arroyo, in an interview with government-owned National Broadcasting Network (NBN), said the Pope, in his encyclical Danes Caritas Es, discussed the role of the church in the search for justice.
