PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo extended the mandate of the Presidential Middle East Preparedness Committee (PMEPC) by another three months following the volatile political situation in Lebanon.

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo said the reduction in the self-rated poverty to 46 percent in December from 52 percent in September showed that government’s anti-hunger and anti-poverty programs are working.
