No changes yet on Arroyo’s plans: aide
EVEN with the selection of Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr. as administration standard-bearer for 2010, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is not making changes in her schedule to campaign for him — at least not yet.
Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said Arroyo will still keep her head “above the daily mundane demands of politics” even after Teodoro’s selection last Wednesday.
“No, even if she is the head of the ruling party she has always placed herself above the daily mundane demands of politics. This has been her winning stand to be above politics and just be able to focus on what she thinks needs to be done,” Remonde, who is with Arroyo in London, said on government-run dzRB radio.
He said the President already stated in her last State of the Nation Address (Sona) that she will focus on the economy, education, and environment. (more)
