Arroyo worried about son’s case
MALACAÑANG said on Friday that President Arroyo is “worried” about the ill-gotten wealth case filed against her eldest child, Pampanga Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo, by a group of militant government workers.
The charges against the younger Arroyo stemmed from investigative reports that he failed to disclose in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) the P63.7-million house that he acquired in California, USA.
The Confederation for the Unity, Recognition, and Advancement of Government Employees (Courage) asked the Ombudsman to compel Mikey to explain how his net worth “suddenly ballooned to a staggering P61.8 million in 2005″ from zero in his first year in public office.
The group said Mikey could be held liable for graft simply based on his admission that he accepted millions in wedding gifts and campaign contributions which helped increase his assets to P99.2 million in 2008 from only P76.9 million in 2005. (more)

If the investigation is not a “hogwash”, on the prevailing circumstances of the case, there is no way out for him. He should be crucified and put behind bars just like disgraced New Zealand MP Philipp Field who was convicted and jailed for several years for the same offense Mr. Mikey Arroyo had to face.
