Letting Go, Breaking Free

I used to go out with people whom I thought would be my friends forever. And maybe they would have had it not been for that misunderstanding we had over such a minor issue.

But then again, it could also be fate’s way of making herself felt. I mean, if we really were meant to be friends forever, our friendship wouldn’t have been broken so easily. Yet it did. I could blame them, blame myself, even blame God. But what for? What happened has happened. There’s no use crying over spilled milk.

Dream-like devotion

AMAZING how even the simplest moments can make their way into our fast-paced lives, catching us off-guard and striking a poignant chord within us. An act of genuine kindness. An outburst of strong emotions. An exhibition of the triumph of the human spirit. Or better yet, a moving display of unshakeable faith in God–a faith that’s intangible yet so profound and palpable you can almost taste it.

And I love those types of books where I can curl up on the bed after a hectic day at the office and just simply immerse myself in the lives of fictional characters and soon forget my own troubled world.

One new book proved to be an interesting read for me. Heartbreak is an eclectic compilation of stories of… well about having your heart crushed and stomped on by the very people you’ve given it to. The book’s contributors prove to be an interesting mix too as it is written by Filipino writers, a mixture of Prize winning authors (one of them is a Palanca awardee), and newly published ones. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that one of the contributing authors happened to be a Cebuano and another one from Dumaguete.
