Getting to know Nuestra Señora Virgin Dela Regla

CELEBRATING Nuestra Se�ora Virgen dela Regla�s feast day every November 21 brings thousands of people every year from all walks of life. As the feast day grows near, one examines what the name of the patroness means.

According to Fr. Pete Arguillas, parish priest and Shrine rector, the English word �rule� meant �regula� in Latin and �regal� in Spanish. St. Augustine of Hippo Africa and his friars made Virgen dela Regla the patroness of their rule.

The joy of losing money

WHENEVER people talk about going abroad, I feel hopeless. I am the type of person who has no bank accounts, no credit cards, and no permanent address (yes, NPA).

I travel most of the time and I work whenever I feel most needed. I get money from working, and then spend it on traveling going somewhere else, trying to discover new things and insights about life. So, if it is about going abroad? I don’t even think about it.

I love my country. I have friends here and whenever I go, I gain new ones. I cannot stay in one city for a couple years… or else I would feel so dead and sick! Although I am the poorest traveler, I guess I’m the happiest and I have a lot of stories to tell. So, what is really wrong with me? I guess it’s my passion to learn and explore.
