We have been screaming for ice-cream with Dora the Explorer. We have had Choo-choo train adventures, berry hunting and triumphant encounters with Swiper the fox. But who would have thought that such a fun activity could happen in Cebu?

Starring Dora the Explorer, Boots (Dora’s monkey friend), Swiper (the villainous fox), Big Red Chicken, Little Funny Star, and other friends, the Dora Sing-along Fiesta drew children ages one year and above into a melodic and fun interactive learning experience. Shows were held at the Ayala Activity Center.

The Sing-along Fiesta (Spanish for “party”) included Dora’s well-loved songs such as “…I love my Boots and my boots love me”, “Baseball”, the “Star Catching song” and more.

The kids screamed, laughed and fondly sang along. Some of them were even luckier when they were asked to perform “The Chicken Dance” along with Red Big Chicken and other characters onstage.

To add to the thrill, Swiper popped out from a window to steal Funny Star (a star Dora and Boots got from Star catching). This led everyone to cry out “Swiper no Swiping!”, as frequently exclaimed in the television adventures.

Also, some Dora fanatics had the chance to “meet and greet” and have a picture taken with Dora and Boots right after every show.

Older family members and guardians also enjoyed the sing-along fiesta. Marvin and Chris, the parents of one-year-old Fiona believed the show was a very “effective way to improve their child’s social skills”.

As for siblings Mary Christian and Cobi Christian Madala and other Dora fans, seeing and interacting with Dora in person meant learning a lot of new stuff while enjoying a colorful musical adventure!
