Admit it. Some of you are bummed out that vacation is over. All the signs are there: it’s been raining constantly, all the department stores are displaying notebooks instead of beach balls and your house is now stacked with paper, pens and books.

Just because you had so much fun over the summer doesn’t mean you’re headed for a boring time at school. School can be cool, too, if you just give it a shot.

Learning

Yep. School gives you the much needed boost to make your brain work again. If all you’ve been doing was sleep over the summer, maybe it’s time to get that mind of yours ticking. And there will be all new lessons, things to discover, clubs to join and books to read.

Friends

It’s been two whole months since you last saw your classmates. Don’t you just miss them? Why don’t you get to know that new classmate while you’re at it? Make him or her feel at home. Add to your list of friends so school would be more fun.

Playground

Oh, the joys of the swings, see-saws, monkey bars and slides. For those of you who don’t have these at home, the school playground is the perfect place to run around with your classmates.

Recess

A lot of you look forward to recess. It’s the perfect time to bond with new friends. You get to play in the playground and you get to peek into each other’s lunchboxes and share your baon.

Allowance

Hail to the return of allowances! If you were broke all summer, school time brings back the glory of the allowance. Now you can save to buy that special something you’ve been wanting to get but had no cash to spend.

See? School isn’t so bad, after all.
