THE plenary deliberations on proposals to amend the Constitution will take the backseat for a while at the House of Representatives as congressmen are set to take Las Vegas by storm to watch the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight on Sunday.

The House adjourned session at exactly 6 p.m. Wednesday with only 104 lawmakers present despite the arrival of 25 new party-list congressmen. (more)

  • LAS VEGAS — There’s only one Ricky Hatton, as his admirers constantly sing to anyone who will listen. Good thing, because if there were any more Ricky Hattons his devoted followers in England might never have time to do anything but sing.

    The problem for Hatton is there’s also only one pound-for-pound champion in boxing. His name is Manny Pacquiao, and all he did his last time out was give Oscar De La Hoya such a beating that De La Hoya decided it was time to retire. (more)

  • Pacman, Hitman arrive in Vegas

    MANNY “Pacman” Pacquiao arrived in Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Tuesday and was greeted with a flock of supporters and boxing fanatics who inched their way to get a closer look and even touch the Filipino boxing sensation.

    Pacquiao, the punching machine from General Santos City, was mobbed by the crowd upon his arrival and had to be escorted through the casino to his hotel room. Pacquiao was scheduled to have autograph signing, but this was cancelled as a result of the mayhem caused by his entrance to the Sin City. (more)

  • DESPITE getting the services of Floyd Mayweather Sr., former International Boxing Federation light welterweight champion Paul Malignaggi thinks Ricky Hatton will still lose to pound-for-pound king Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao this Sunday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

    Malignaggi, who was defeated by Hatton via 11th round stoppage in their Nov. 22 battle, believes there is no way Hatton will win. (more)
