LAS VEGAS -- Police said a former Las Vegas man has been arrested in the Philippines on a murder warrant in the slaying of his wife.

Her bones were found last month buried in the back yard of their U.S. home.

Las Vegas police said 53-year-old Hugh Cave was arrested Thursday in Sabang, Morong, Bataan — about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Manila.

Police said 45-year-old Gloria Cave's remains were found April 23 by the current tenant of the home in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police on April 29 obtained a warrant for Hugh Cave's arrest, and a criminal apprehension team coordinated with the FBI and Filipino authorities in the arrest.

Police Officer Laura Meltzer said Cave is awaiting extradition to Las Vegas to face charges. (AP)
