MANILA -- Malacañang on Saturday said it will also wait for the press briefing set by former elections commissioner Virgilio Garcillano Saturday afternoon as more witnesses on the alleged 2004 election fraud come out.
A radio report said that Garcillano’s press conference is set at 2 p.m. in the town of Baungon in Bukidnon province.
“For all you know, he may surprise us (or) he may not…Everybody seems to be looking for him and everybody wants to say hello to Garci…let’s listen to what he wants to say because at this point, we don’t know yet,” Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said over government-run dzRB radio.
Garcillano was implicated in the “Hello, Garci” scandal – a wiretapped conversation allegedly with former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during the 2004 presidential elections. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
