Aquino receives foreign ministers of New Zealand, Canada
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 - 03:06 p.m.MANILA -- President Benigno Aquino III on Wednesday received in Malacañang two foreign ministers from New Zealand and Canada who were both invited by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario.
Aquino first received Foreign Minister New Zealand Murray McCully at the Music Room of the Malacañang Palace where they discussed the advancement of economic ties and various areas of cooperation between Philippines and New Zealand.

Roadside bomb kills 12 in Pakistan

The incident took place shortly after the victims left Spai, a predominantly Shiite village in the Orakzai tribal area, said local government official Jamil Khan. They were headed for the nearby district of Kohat, he said.

It is the first time in its 45 years of existence that Asean has failed to issue a statement regarding a pressing matter at the conclusion of its meetings.

Needles in airplane sandwiches probed

Delta says what appear to be sewing needles were found in five sandwiches Sunday. One passenger on a flight to Minneapolis was injured.
2 children found positive for enterovirus

The health department recently intensified security among travelers following the deaths of 56 children in Cambodia due to EV-71.
Mexico says 67 journalists killed since 2006
