Students walk out of classes to protest education budget cuts

THOUSANDS of students in Manila walked out of their classes to protest against the looming education budget cuts Friday.

A television report said students from the University of the Philippines, Technological University of the Philippines, among others will converge in Quiapo, Manila for the protest action.

They will also reportedly walk to Mendiola as part of the action.

Data gathered by Kabataan Party-list showed the proposed 2012 national budget for SUCs will have a P1.5 billion cut from current 2011 budget. (Sunnex)
