Dec. 8 declared as a holiday in Taguig City

MANILA – President Benigno Aquino III has declared December 8, 2011, Thursday, as a special non-working day in Taguig City in celebration of its 7th founding anniversary.
Aquino issued Proclamation 298 on December 1 to give the people of Taguig the full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion.
On December 8, 1998, Republic Act 8487 was enacted which converted the said municipality into a highly urbanized city. It was officially became a city on December 8, 2004. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
