Police officer dies, another injured in Quezon City shootout

A POLICE officer was killed while another was injured during a shootout with a group of armed men in Quezon City before noon on Thursday.

The incident took place at around 11:47 in the morning Burbank street in Fairmont subdivision in North Fairview, Superintendent Danilo Pecano, spokesman of the National Capital Region Police Office, said.

Officers from the Quezon City Police’s Station 5 were on patrol when a group of men engaged them in a gunfight.

The fatality, identified as a certain Police Officer 2 Quintero, died on arrival at the FEU Hospital, where the injured policeman, PO2 Adajar, is confined.
