Tuesday, January 3, 2012

THE Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted at General Santos City may develop into tropical depression in the next two to three days, state forecasters said Tuesday.

Reports said once the LPA becomes tropical depression, it will be named "Ambo".

In its 10 a.m. Tuesday weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was estimated at 510 kilometers east of General Santos City as of 8 a.m.

Pagasa said the weather system will bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Eastern and Southern Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. (Sunnex)
