Fire hits Iloilo

ILOILO CITY (Updated) -- A huge fire hit two villages in this city Sunday afternoon while hundreds of people celebrate the Dinagyang Festival.

Radio and television reports said more than 200 families were affected by the fire that hit Barangay Tanza Timawa Zone II around 5 p.m. The blaze quickly spread to the neighboring village of Tanza Esperanza in the city proper.

Initial report said the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring.

Firefighters declared the fire out around 8 p.m. (Sunnex)
