DepEd suspends classes in Central Visayas after quake

CEBU CITY -- The Department of Education (DepEd) in Central Visayas on Tuesday suspended classes in the entire region after the magnitude-6.9 earthquake that struck Negros and Cebu islands.
DepEd Regional Director Recardo Burgonia announced the class suspension pending the inspection of school buildings by DepEd engineers.
The suspension covered high school and elementary levels.
Meanwhile, several colleges announced the resumption of classes.
The University of San Jose-Recoletos, Southwestern University, and St. Theresa's College all in Cebu resumed their operations Tuesday. (Sunnex)
