Flights canceled due to bad weather
Sunday, February 12, 2012
FLIGHTS to and from Naga City have been canceled Sunday due to bad weather brought about by a potential cyclone in Mindanao.
Bombo Radyo said Cebu Pacific Air canceled its 7 a.m. flight from Manila to Naga City and its return trip. Another airline Airphil Express has also canceled its Naga to Manila trip scheduled to depart at 10 a.m. Sunday.
The flight cancellations were triggered by the effects of a low pressure area estimated to be in the vicinity of Hinatuan City in Mindanao.
In its 2 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration warned of widespread rains over Southern Tagalog region, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao, which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Reports said the bad weather has brought flooding in some parts of Mindanao including General Santos City. (Sunnex)
