MANILA -- President Benigno Aquino III’s administration has maintained majority public support, results from the independent pollster Social Weather Stations (SWS) show on Monday.
After collating the responses of 1,200 Filipinos, the SWS said the government received a net satisfaction rating of +56 in the last quarter of 2011, (67 percent satisfied as against 11 percent dissatisfied), which was unchanged from the September figure.
Of the 19 issues rated by the public from December 3 to 7, the administration came up with a “very good” score of +56 in helping the victims of disaster, +55 for aiding the handicapped, and +51 for helping the poor.
“This recent measurement of public opinion indicates that the public not only sees, but has tangibly felt, the government’s efforts to improve services, push for inclusive growth and upgrade response to disasters,” Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said.
SWS classified net scores of +70 and above as "excellent," +50 to +69 "very good," +30 to +49 "good," +10 to +29 "moderate," +9 to -9 "neutral," -10 to -29 "poor," -30 to -49 "bad," -50 to -69 "very bad," and -70 and below "execrable."
The survey had a margin of error of plus/minus three percent for national and plus/minus six percent for area percentages at 95 percent confidence level. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
