Murder suspect arrested in Cebu

AUTHORITIES arrested Wednesday a murder suspect in Barangay San Roque, Cebu City.

A radio report said the Cebu City Police Office arrested Joseph Padin of Barangay Tisa Wednesday morning.

The report said Padin was one of the three suspects who killed 30-year-old Christobelle Avenido in 2008.

Police identified two other suspects as Marlon Osorno and a certain Gesto who were reportedly members of the Crips gang.

Police earlier said Avenido was on his way to a store when the suspects, who were drinking near it, offered him a drink.

Avenido turned the offer down resulting for the suspects to get angry and eventually killed him.

However, Padin denied this on Wednesday.

He is now under police custody. (Sunnex)
