Private market stalls in Cebu padlocked
Wednesday, February 15, 2012
THE Talisay City Government started implementing the closure order against a private market located near the Old Tabunok Public Market Wednesday.
A radio report said more than 100 stalls at the Nacario Trade Center are set to be padlocked for operating without business permits.
The Talisay City Council passed last month a resolution requesting Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez to impose the cease-and-desist order on the private market.
The resolution wants the Nacario Trade Center to stop its operations to help the legitimate vendors in the New Public Market in Barangay Lagtang Talisay City.
The Nacario Trade Center still allows vendors to rent spaces after the closure of the old Tabunok Public Market last August. (Sunnex)
