MANILA -- President Benigno Aquino III received on Wednesday morning the cast and crew of Hollywood film, Bourne Legacy.

Actor Jeremy Renner, clad in a traditional Barong Tagalog, led four other co-stars and crew during a courtesy call in Malacañang.

Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) Secretary Ricky Carandang said the producers of the latest Bourne movie expressed their admiration for the Philippine crew and producers for their professionalism and dedication.

They also thanked the Metro Manila Development Authority, Office of the Executive Secretary, Department of Tourism, Presidential Communications Operations Office and his office for their help in making the filming experience easier, he added.

"They were happy that they chose to film in Manila rather than the other locations they considered (such as) in Vietnam and Indonesia," Carandang said.

In turn, Aquino thanked the guests for choosing the Philippines to shoot their film here, Carandang said.

The President expressed hope that this would boost tourism and lead more film productions being staged in the country, he said.

The Chief Executive gave the cast and crew of the Hollywood film chocolates and copies of his inaugural book.

Renner's group presented to Aquino DVD copies of movies Bourne Identity, Bourne supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum, as well as The Town and The Hurt Locker.

Rachel Weisz was not part of the group that paid the courtesy call since she has already left the Philippines after the 40-day shooting of the movie. (SDR/Sunnex)
