DepEd: No ‘Edsa Holiday’ Monday

-A A +A

Sunday, February 26, 2012

THE Department of Education (DepEd) reminded students that there will be classes and no “Edsa Holiday” tomorrow, Monday.

The department issued the clarification after its Twitter account was deluged with request for information from parents whether classes are suspended Sunday, two days after the nation marked the 26th anniversary of the Edsa People Power uprising that toppled the Marcos dictatorship.

But the department said classes will not be suspended Monday.

“The Edsa holiday will not be moved to Monday. February 27 is a regular school day,” it said.

Earlier, Education Secretary Armin Luistro said schools can still hold activities to commemorate the People Power uprising and at the same time hold classes.

The department supervised the country’s 42, 000 public elementary and secondary schools. (AH/Sunnex)
