Our Lady of Fatima grad tops 2012 medical board exam

MANILA -- A graduate of the Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela topped the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Physician Licensure Examination held last February.

Ronald Resuma Ceriales topped the board exam with a rating of 88.50 percent. Four other fellow graduates of Ceriales at the Our Lady of Fatima University occupied the 5th, 9th and 10th spots.

Second and third placers are Jon Karl Delgado Velasco (Cebu Institute of Medicine) and Miguel Rafael David Ramos (Saint Luke's College of Medicine) who got 85.92 and 85.83, respectively.

Other examinees who made it to the top 10 are: 4th placer Von Andre Mejico Medina of the University of Perpetual Help System-Laguna (85.58 percent), 5th placer Irvin Lorrie Pitapit Galvan of the Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela (85.42 percent), 6th placer Murphy Estremos Boyles of Xavier University (85.33 percent), 7th placer Christina Margarita Canon Janer of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (85.17), 8th placer Marc Frances Bongcawil Magoncia of Xavier University (84.75), 9th placer Cherrylyn Restrivera Laguna of Our Lady of Fatima University–Valenzuela (84.67 percent), and 10th placers Bill Allen De Guzman Alarcon (84.58 percent) and Uzziel Ginette Aguinaldo Bascao (84.58), both from Our Lady of Fatima University – Valenzuela.

Physician Licensure Exam

The PRC said 520 out of 990 examinees passed the Physician Licensure Examination given by the board of medicine in the cities of Manila and Cebu last February.

Five schools got a 100 percent passing rate: Cebu Institute of Medicine, University of Santo Tomas, University of the Philippines-Manila, West Visayas State University-Iloilo, and Xavier University-Cagayan de Oro.

The results were released in three working days from the last day of examinations.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on March 12, 2012 but not later than March 16, 2012.

Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), two pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), one piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), two sets of metered documentary stamps and one short brown envelope with name and profession.

They are also required to pay the initial registration fee of P600 and annual registration fee of P450 for 2012-2015. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oath-taking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination will be announced later, the PRC said. (Sunnex)
