DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — Pakistani intelligence officials said a US drone has fired two missiles at a compound in northwest Pakistan and killed four suspected militants.
The officials said Wednesday's attack took place in Datta Khel town in the North Waziristan tribal area. The specific identities of the suspected militants were not known, but the town is a stronghold of the Haqqani network.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
Drone strikes have become an increasingly contentious issue between the US and Pakistan.
Pakistan's parliament recently demanded the US end all drone strikes in Pakistan. But the US has made it clear that it has no intention of stopping the covert CIA program. (AP)
