CEBU CITY (2nd Update, 4:40 p.m.) -- Cebuana talent manager Annabelle Rama filed Thursday libel charges against former actresses Amalia Fuentes and Nadia Montenegro, and entertainment reporter Chito Alcid at the Cebu City Prosecutor's Office.
Rama filed 10 counts of libel against Montenegro; eight counts against Fuentes; and seven counts against Alcid for posting alleged libelous statements on social networking sites.
Rama, in her complaints, said the comments and tweets posted by her showbiz critics on Facebook and Twitter contain "libelous and defamatory statements tending to injure and impeach my honesty, virtue, honor, reputation and integrity."
The talent manager was accompanied by her lawyer Delon Richel Ramon Urot, brother and Basak San Nicolas barangay chairman George Rama, and other supporters when she subscribed her complaints before Assistant City Prosecutor Liceria Rabillas.
Earlier, Fuentes filed 11 counts of libel against Rama at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office for posting malicious statements on Twitter, while Montenegro filed 14 counts of libel against the talent manager over malicious statements on Twitter and television interviews.
Court employees and visitors at the Palace of Justice also flocked to Rama for photo opportunities after she filed the complaints.
Earlier Thursday, Rama was spotted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 in Pasay City with her husband actor Eddie Gutierrez, son Elvis, and granddaughters Lorin and Venice. The family reportedly flew to Cebu for a vacation. (GMD of Sun.Star Cebu/Sunnex)
