THE Low Pressure Area spotted in Mindanao was estimated based on satellite and surface data as of 8 a.m. Sunday at 580 kilometers east of Hinatuan City, Surigao Del Sur.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said this weather disturbance will affect Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao.
The agency warned residents living in low-lying areas and along mountain slopes to be on alert for possible occurrence of flashfloods and landslides.
Pagasa also advised fishing boats and small seacrafts not to venture out into the sea as a strong gale force wind is expected to affect the western seaboard of Luzon. Larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. (Sunnex)
