5.3-magnitude quake hits Sarangani

CEBU CITY -- A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit the province of Sarangani in Mindanao around 4 p.m. Thursday, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in its latest bulletin that the quake's epicenter was located 157 kilometers southeast of the province.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) also tracked the quake at 191 kilometers southeast from General Santos City; 242 kilometers south southeast from Davao; and 349 kilometers southeast from Cotabato.
The USGS said the tremor was also felt in Koror, Palau.
Aftershocks are expected, said the Phivolcs.
No damage to property has been reported as of this posting Thursday. (Sunnex)
