MANILA -- The House of Representatives has set up a wall of photos captured during the historic impeachment trial of ousted Chief Justice Renato Corona just hours before the President’s third state address.
President Benigno Aquino III will deliver his third State of the Nation Address (Sona) at 4 p.m. at the Batasan Pambansa complex.
The photo gallery was displayed just outside the plenary hall at the south wing lobby.
In an earlier interview with House Secretary General Marilyn Barua-Yap, she said the photo wall was an idea of Quezon City Representative Jorge Banal who was part of the House impeachment prosecution team.
"It was a collective decision, in consultation with the House leadership to come up with a simple photo mural depicting some of the highlights of the impeachment (trial)," Banal said in a text message.
With at least 188 signatures from its members, the House of Representatives impeached Corona for culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust.
