Bomb suspect in boat stored in US neighborhood

The official said he was briefed on the situation and spoke on condition of anonymity because he's not authorized to discuss it publicly.

The suspects, named as Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, were seen carrying backpacks as they mingled among marathon revelers near the explosion sites shortly before Monday's blasts. They also killed on Friday a university police officer and hurled explosives at police in a car chase and gun battle overnight that left one of them, Tamerlan, dead.

The suspects, who were seen carrying backpacks as they mingled among marathon revelers near the explosion sites shortly before Monday's blasts, also killed a university police officer, injured a transit officer in a firefight and threw explosive devices at police during their getaway attempt in a long night of violence that left one of them dead and another still at large Friday.

Friday, April 19, 2013 - 04:39 p.m.WATERTOWN, Massachusetts — Police said one of two suspects in the shooting of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) police officer is dead and a massive manhunt is underway for another, who is believed to be tied to the Boston Marathon bombing.
Shortly after the MIT officer was shot dead Thursday night, police got a report of a carjacking in Cambridge, just outside Boston. One of the two suspects in the officer's shooting was killed.
