MANILA (Updated 3:15 p.m.) -- After meeting with President Benigno Aquino III, the House of Representatives has decided to take a crucial vote on the reproductive health (RH) bill Monday afternoon.
Voting on whether or not to end debate on the highly divisive measure was earlier set August 7, Tuesday.
"That was the consensus in the meeting with the President," House Majority Leader Neptali Gonzales II said.
Around 180 congressmen attended the meeting with Aquino on Monday.
If the pro-RH lawmakers win in the viva voce vote (voice voting), Gonzales said a small committee will be created to handle the provisions in the proposed law. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
