MANILA -- Five transmission line structures of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) have been damaged due to continuous heavy monsoon rains affecting residents in Bataan province.
NGCP said on Thursday that a landslide occurred in Morong, Bataan, Wednesday morning damaging its structures along PNPP-Morong 69-kiloVolt line.
"Affected power customers are Peninsula Electric Cooperative (PENELCO)-Morong and Bataan Technopark Incorporated (BTPI)," it said.
NGCP said that the restoration works were being hampered by widespread flooding in the area.
But it assured that as soon as the flood subsides its linemen will continue line inspection and correction.
NGCP said it is doing its best to restore the affected pole structures in Bataan at the soonest possible time given the situation. (SDR/Sunnex)
