PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III will visit several evacuation centers in the metro to lead the distribution of relief goods to families affected by the massive flooding due to torrential rains.
Based on his schedule sent to reporters Thursday, the President will be going to Nangka Elementary School in Barangay Nangka, Marikina, at 10 a.m.
Nangka Elementary School reportedly has the biggest number of evacuees among the 24 evacuation centers set up in Marikina.
President Aquino was supposed to visit Barangay Nangka Wednesday but it was cancelled due to the critical situation in the area.
The President will then go to Barangay Bagong Silangan covered court in Quezon City where thousands of families are also evacuated.
He will also visit Malabon, which is one of the areas badly hit by the flooding.
His visit to Caloocan and Valenzuela still has to be confirmed depending on the situation in these areas.
After visiting flood-hit areas, the President will go back to Malacañang for the official signing ceremony of the loan agreement for the Jalaur River Multipurpose Irrigation Project Phase II in Rizal Hall scheduled at 4:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, the President visited flood victims in Tunasan, Muntinlupa City.
He also handed out food packs consisting of noodles, cans of sardines and corned beef, rice and coffee to 784 families or 3,920 individuals from various barangays around Laguna Lake who were displaced because of the floods. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
