MANILA – President Benigno Aquino III has declared August 17, which falls on a Friday, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Davao in celebration of the Kadayawan Festival.

The Chief Executive issued the declaration through Proclamation 432 signed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. on July 12, upon the request of the City Council to enable the people to participate in the event.

The Kadayawan Festival is a weeklong celebration and thanksgiving for nature’s bountiful harvest. The festivity is being celebrated every 3rd Week of August in Davao. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
